Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Who is to attend the scoring clinic and coaches meeting:
The person that is going to score targets on the line needs to attend. Every team must supply people to score. If there is more than one person per team that would like to come no problem. The coaches meeting will be 4:00 pm to 5 pm. The scoring meeting is at 3-4PM. Both meetings will be in the Downing Center we will have the exact location at registration.

Q: Can a shooter shoot in both 5 meter (BB) and 10 meter matches?
Yes, as long as they are on a team qualified to shoot as a member of team shooting in BB match (5 meter) they can shoot in 5 meter, and they can also shoot in 10 meter matches. There is no qualification to shoot in 10 meter. A shooter can shoot in 10 meter and not be qualified to shoot in 5 meter.

Q: What is the headquaters hotel? Do we have to stay there?

Q: Is there a meal plan offered?
Meals are available at the college cafeteria in the student center.

Q: Where will matches be shot?
Both matches will be shot indoors at the Diddle Arena which is the campus basketball facility.

Q: When are the matches?
July 4-6, 2008 for BB. Air Gun follows on July 7-8.

Q: When should a state match be held by in order for a team to qualify to shoot in the IBBGCM?
A: State matches should be held no later than March 30th.

Q: Is there a registration fee to shoot in the BB Gun match?
A: There is no registration fee this year for the BB gun match.

Q: Can the same gun be used by different individuals or members of a team?
A: Yes they can, as long as the gun has been checked and approved for use before the competition.

Q: Can the participants compete in more than one competition?
A: Competitors may shoot in BB Gun, Air Gun or both, however the registration fee must be paid Airgun. Shooters shooting in more than one 10 meter event will pay the additional fee per event. However, keep in mind that scheduling multiple competitions for one shooter may be create some challenges in preparation, and may not be possible.

Q: Can a team compete if there was no state match?
A: In Air Gun Competitions, anyone can compete – it is open invitation. In BB Gun, the teams MUST have completed the Shooting Education course, and MUST have competed in a state qualifying match which can be hosted by either the Jaycees, 4-H (but not exclusively) or another organization using current NRA competition rules and regulations. They must register with a qualifying team score.

Q: Where is the Housing Form?
A: Each team is responsible for getting their own motel reservations. Information to make reservations at the host hotel is on the Hotel page.

Q: Do we have to buy a Meal Plan?
A: No.

Q: What Airgun matches are being held?
A: Our air rifle match will be an open match. We will have three position sporter and three position precision match only. The Junior Olympics match will be held in Anninston AL in 2008 and is not in the same location as the Daisy match. The fee will be 35.00 per competitor.
